Plant journal
Welcome to Rincón Verde
What Rincón Verde means, and why this is a space for people living with houseplants in Barcelona.
Rincón Verde literally means “green corner”. It might be a shelf with two pots, a window full of leaves, or the plant you have carried from one home to the next. It is that small place that changes a room when it gets a little attention.
I live in Barcelona, and during home visits I keep seeing the same thing: plants are loved, but there is not always enough time, calm, or information to look after them. A yellow leaf causes worry. A plant leans towards the window. And sometimes it is hard to tell whether it needs water, a new pot, or simply to be left alone.
This is where Rincón Verde begins
I created Rincón Verde to help with those moments. I visit your home, look at the light and the space, and check the soil and roots when needed. Then I explain what I see in plain language. The aim is for you to understand your plants, without turning care into another demanding chore.
There is no single routine that suits every plant. The same species can need different things depending on the window, the pot, or the season. That is why I prefer to look before I advise.
What this journal is for
I will share notes on repotting, watering, light, pests, and common mistakes. There will be practical tips, along with small stories of plants that put out a new leaf after finding the right spot.
If a plant is worrying you, write to me. A photo and a few lines about your home are a good place to start.
